Client requirements
To
access Line-of-business Server Applications through TS Web Access, your
computer must be running any one of the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2
- Windows Vista
- Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1
- Windows Server 2008
Additionally, your
computer must be configured as follows:
- Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client 6.0 The client computer must
be running RDC 6.0. If you are running an earlier version of the RDC
client, you are prompted to upgrade the client when you visit the TS Web
Access Web page.
- Terminal Services ActiveX Client
control The Terminal Services ActiveX Client control must be enabled.
(The ActiveX control is included with RDC 6.0.)

If
you are prompted to run the Terminal Services ActiveX Client control when you
access TS Web Access, do either of the following, depending on your operating
system:
- If you are running Windows Server 2003 or Windows
XP, and you are prompted to run the Terminal Services ActiveX Client control,
click the message line, click Run ActiveX Control,
and then click Run. After you have enabled the
control, refresh the Web page.
- If you are running Windows Server 2008 or
Windows Vista, click the warning message on the Internet Explorer
Information bar, point to Add-on Disabled, and then
click Run ActiveX Control.
When you do this, you may see a security warning. Make sure that the
publisher for the ActiveX control is "Microsoft Corporation"
before you click Run.
If the Internet Explorer Information bar does not appear, you can enable
the ActiveX control by using the Manage Add-ons
tool on the Tools menu of Internet Explorer.
If
your computer meets all of the client requirements but you do not see any
programs listed, contact your systems administrator or the webmaster for the
Web site.

In general, if you are the only person that uses the computer, it
is considered a private computer. For example, this may be your personal work
or home-office computer. If you select this option, make sure that your
computer complies with your organization’s security policy.
If
you select the I am using a private computer that complies
with my organization’s security policy check box:
- You will have the option to save your user
credentials.
- If drive redirection is enabled for the remote
program or remote desktop that you are accessing, you will be able to
access your local drives through the Terminal Services session.
If
you clear the I am using a private computer that complies
with my organization’s security policy check box:
- You are not given the option to save your user
credentials.
- You will not be able to access your local
drives through the Terminal Services session.
You
should select this option if you are using a public computer, or a private
computer that does not comply with your organization’s security policy.
Important:
If you are
using a public computer, make sure that you close all windows when you have
finished your session.
